I bought a replacement battery for my laptop from someone other than Toshiba.
This site offers lower cost batteries and it is 8 cell.
I installed it and now the green battery light does no turn on.
Also, when I want to check on how much time the battery has, I get n/a and eventhough I am using the battery, it says that it is fully charged with the AC cord.
How can I get my laptop to detect the new battery?

the answer is: to buy a new original battery for your laptop.
currently, your "not genuine" battery has a problem with controller, and laptop just won't recognize it.

that is what i'm looking for.
I just hope that the place that I bought it from gives me a refund.
