I may have played some (small) part in helping with support for you and your new (or possibly older) system
Damn I'm jealous
Mind you I've optimized my system (software wise) it runs quick (possibly not as well as yours at the moment, maybe yours on a bad day )

So the big question... How much, all up? Too much to say? Or you just don't know, over all this time?

4870x2 quad fire 550 each

antec 1200 case-got it as a deal for 100 brand new

psu costed me 250

mobo 350

8 gigs of ram 140

q9450-got it when it first came out so i paid 400 for the retail

2 sea gate drives 100 dollars

thermaltake kit 850 180-but doing a custom kit soon swiftech or danger den

xfi xtreme gamer 80 or so

logitech z5500 got it when it first came out so 400 back then

dvd drives 25 each

monitor 670 after tax

eh having a prob with it tho it will not read the 2 hds at times but after a restart or two it will?not sure what is causing this and can not figure it out

You've had that issue before (I think it was new HDD Sata data cables that fixed it)
I'd say use different Sata ports on the motherboard

this is a new psu but i will try again to change the ports for the sata drives.
