what is the overall opinion about the xfx mi-a78s-8209 motherboard? is it a decent and stable mobo?

if not are there any others in its price and performace range worth buying?

I think you're looking at a 50/50 chance of that board being stable. XFX's motherboards, from what I've heard of them, can be pretty unreliable; can be a real pain to get working correctly. You'd probably be better off with an ASUS, Abit, Gigabyte, EVGA, or Foxconn motherboard. Of course, you could read up on some reviews on that particular board but I would honestly just go with something else.
