Sorry if I posted in wrong section =( please dont flame...
Ok, hello everbydoy. im new to the forum, and I need help. I just
recently got rid of spyhunter, because I was stupid enough to think
it worked. but besides that this machine should be clean, untill I
tried ending iexplore and it just kept popping up. I read some
things about it and I concluded it was spyware or malware. so I was
wondering if you could help me. my internet secruity is "Kasper Sky
Internet Security 2009" and I use MBAM. So ive scanned and I just
cant find anything. and maybe you can see if theres anything else
the scanners missed. Also, a DDOS screen pops up and disapeers when
I reboot my computer... any idea?

Not sure if you wanted the Super Anti Spyware in a .log or .txt but I made it a .txt
thanks in advance. and I know my name is weird =/

Looks fine, just a little cleaning up to do

Remove bad HijackThis entries
  • Run HijackThis
  • Click on the System Scan Only button
  • Put a check beside all of the items listed below (if present):

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
  • Close all open windows and browsers/email, etc...
  • Click on the "Fix Checked" button
  • When completed, close the application.

-----------------------------------------------------

Go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall:
Viewpoint Manager Service

Then delete the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Viewpoint

-------------------------------------------------------

clear system restore points

  • This is a good time to clear your existing system restore points and establish a new clean restore point:
    • Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
    • Select Create a restore point, and Ok it.
    • Next, go to Start > Run and type in cleanmgr
    • Select the More options tab
    • Choose the option to clean up system restore and OK it.
This will remove all restore points except the new one you just created.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I would also consider installing winpatrol (the free version) going forward

Thanks Blind Dragon, i did what you told me to do and i dont see iexplore.exe anymore. ive also had winprotrol on my laptop which is screwed up to the max... winpatrol seemed ok... but ive got pretty good pretection as of now, unless you really recommend it?

for kimdsland, everyonce and a while i go into regedit and msconfig and take out all the unnecessary programs that run at start. im pretty sure nothing really is running thats a DDOS screen =/ but ill check. thanks

Edit: i dont see a view point manager in add or remove programs, just viewpoint media player... Should i uninstall the media player and delete the folder?

Working together, these enable us to deliver the most visually powerful, immersive and engaging rich media applications on the Web.

I wonder if they meant most visually powerful, immersive, and engaging rich advertisements on the web

Ok, thanks guys. that seemed to quickly solve that problem. sorry if im not allowed to do this, but i dont wana create another thread. Is rundll32.exe spyware/adware and all that or just a necessary windows process...? because ive seen both saying it..

rundll32.exe is a legitimate process located in C:\Windows\System32
In other cases, located elsewhere, it is most definitely bad.

Just adding

A lot of the rundll32.exe startups are things like the icons that sit near your clock (not all but some, sometimes :) )

Anyway, I have no rundll32.exe startups if that helps

Edit:

I think you have 3 of them
One of them is the Nvidia control icon (near your clock (and obviously not required)
Actually you can remove these startups, ideally within the progams settings (like do not display taskbar icon)
Some of these options are well hidden in the user program settings (annoyingly)

Ok, i have a Nvidia icon near my clock (The control pannel for nvidia) so that would the rundll32.exe running in the background? and i dont have to worry about it?

No it's for the user settings (which are just as easily found by going to Display properties)
It does not help the Video card or anything, except to have quick access to display settings.
Anyway that's one of the Rundll32 startups.

Ok, ill check regedit and msconfig and find out where its auto starting from. Also, getting rid of viewpoint fixed so many problems. i think it was screwing up my video card. so when i quit a game it would make my screen only 1/4 of my moniter so i had to restart my computer. but now it doesnt do that ever since i got rid of it. and it was making FPS games really slow. but im going to see if it fixed that also. thanks so much!

Ok, ill check regedit and msconfig and find out where its auto starting from
That icon display setting is in the Advanced display properties (somewhere!)
Or use HJT to remove the rundll32 line (not MsConfig)

i have 2 rundll32.exe.

ones in,

C:\windows\system32\NvMcTray.dll,NvTaskbarInit
other is in
C:\windows\system32\NvCpl.dll,NvStartup

This one is the Tray icon (near clock)
C:\windows\system32\NvMcTray.dll,NvTaskbarInit

This one is the Contol Panel Icon (which you don't need either, but you can leave)
C:\windows\system32\NvCpl.dll,NvStartup

It's horrible when the page changes to Page2, I have to go back and check which was which!

Yes remove the tray icon one (we are talking low amounts of memory, but I hate automatic startups)

Ok, removed. sorry about getting 2 pages. im gana do the same with my laptop... which is totally screwed up. i wont go on and on about it in this post. but when you read this, can you check out the new thread im gana start about my laptop? since you helped alot.

I'm going to be offline for about half hour or so

But yes please make a new thread for a new computer issue

And...

Please put your System Specs information in your Profile

Or let me know which system specs are which (ie which computer)

In the Mobo field, just put in your Computer make and model

ill just add them in the post. Well, its fine if youll be gone for a while. the scanners already took like 30 min.
