My favorite way to dual boot Linux and Windows
...is to have two hard drives; one for Linux and one for Windows. With SATA connections, GRUB detects both drives, it makes Linux the default drive, of course, but you can change the boot default in Linux's menu.lst, if you want.
Two separate hard disks, one for each OS, isn't everyone's cup of coffee, but with hard drives being as inexpensive as they are now, why not? Maybe it's my obsessive-compulsiveness that makes me want to have one drive for just one OS, but I really like the way it works out. |
