Overclocking cuts my AGP speed
Hiya,
not an expert overclocker by any means so play nice. Here's my problem; trying to squeeze some extra juice outta my old P3 700 on a cusl2-c by overclocking it. So far it seems stable at every speed I've tried and heat isn't an issue. But when I try to raise the clock speed to 749 or above ATI's SMARTGART cuts my AGP bus to 2x from 4, which kinda defeats the purpose. Any idea on why this is? I thought it might just be finnicky bus timings but my bios has 749s' pci speed at 35, which is the same as 735s'. And I'm running Crucial ram that's actually pc133 so it should be able to handle anything within reason. Thanks in advance for any help. ~Schmapdi |
