BSOD right after booting, please help

Hi all,

Here's another BSOD help request. My computer here is giving a BSOD one boot completes (30 seconds or so?). The error code is 10000060, with parameters e3742000, 00000000, 8053ad2f, 00000001. I tried booting in safe mode and it runs stable.

However, when in safe mode I tried running chkdsk /r and in stage 5, it gave BSOD again. Stop code 0000008e, c0000005, 8053ae32, a36dcc98, 00000000.

I'm running Windows XP MCE, SP2. Avira is the AV program. I haven't gotten the chance to run memtest yet - I'll be procuring a floppy tonight hopefully to try it tomorrow.

I've attached some minidumps - first two are from trying to boot normally, and the third is from running chkdsk in safe mode.

Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks all in advance!!!

Probably an infection, unless you know what the file belongs to, as there's no hits on Google. http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic65943.html

All the crashes are the same.

Hi Peter,

That's what I was afraid of. I've discovered the storm worm is on there, plus possibly another rootkit. Hopefully I can remove them both without having to come up with an XP cd.

Thanks so much for the help!
