Asus A7V8X-X and SATA hdd issue
Ok guys. I am building a new machine with a Seagate Barracuda SATA 80 GB and an Asus A7V8X-X mobo. Since the mobo has no onboard SATA interface, I have installed an SATA PCI host adapter.
Here's the deal; the host adapter seems to work fine, but no sign of the hdd in either CMOS/BIOS or DOS. The hdd spins up, I checked, and the CMOS is set to auto-detect. I have built dozens of machines, but this is my first SATA drive. Anyone have any ideas? |

Welcome to TechSpot Forums
You're searching the drive from the PCI adapter's BIOS, right? Additional controller cards have their own BIOSes which are (usually) accessible after power-on self test, before the OS loads, there should be a screen saying which key to press to get there.

You installed the mobo SATA utility, correct?
