Can I switch laptop hard drives with the OS?

Friends- I have a Dell laptop with XP and I have a new Toshiba laptop with Vista. The Toshiba is brand new and the Dell is my laptop for work. Can I simply pull the Sata drive out of the Dell and put it in the Toshiba and still have all the data there and the desktop image, VPN, etc ready to go?

Hi

NO

XP wont like being put into another type of machine and will almost certainly give you a blue screen of death.
