Blue Screen on Every Startup, HP Laptop, XP

Hello, I have recently started having a problem with my hp laptop. Every time I start my computer I get the screen to ask which windows mode I would like to start in, no matter what I choose right after that in the windows startup bar screen a blue screen pops up real fast and restarts my computer to the same thing over and over. I finally got a picture of the blue screen and the error message is as follows.

STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC000005, 0x805A949F, 0xF6D2F7A8, 0x000000000)

If anyone has seen this before or knows what it means your input would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Rebecca

Please see this Google page for possible reasons for the Stop:0x0000008E

Windows shut down to blue screen STOP: 0X0000008E:

Also, please try the following link to Jim Eshelman's web page - left hand column
(8E): http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm

You will find that 8E is a hardware related error, usually RAM related. You haven't given us enough information to go further.
