HP dv2610us Notebook - Lags like crazy, help?

Hi,

I've got a lovely HP dv2610us, which is also described as a notebook or an Entertainment PC. I know little to nothing about computer hardware, so bear with me...

It came with the following:

Processor: AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-58
Maximum speed: 1.9 GHz

NVIDIA graphics card

1 GB RAM

Anyway...I bought Tomb Raider Underworld without reading the package and discovered that my computer lagged like crazy trying to play it. After reading the package, I realized my computer wasn't good enough to run it...for Vista it needed at least 2 GB of RAM.

So I installed more and now have a total of 4 GB of RAM, but it doesn't seem to be helping my gaming in the slightest. I can up some of the display settings on Spore, but only two or three of them and only from Low to Medium.

As I was writing this I also noticed my processor should be at least 3 GHz...is that also upgradable?

What other things can I do to speed it up? I'm planning on taking it in to Staples to get some of the junk I can't find taken off, but I don't think that will help much.

What do you suggest?
