i use NVIDIA PureVideo Decoder but you have to pay for it. im sure there are some free ones

Cyberlink PowerDVD is a good program. Give it a look.
But more importantly, what is wrong with VLC and WMP?

PowerDVD is what I use. I used to use WinDVD but it is more of a hog.. As far as getting media player to work you are missing a codec/s. Go here and download one of the codec packs http://www.free-codecs.com/ and install
