Ghostscript 8.53

when trying to use Ghostscript 8.53 I keep getting error msg AFPL Ghostscript 8.53: Can't find initialization file gs_init.ps. I'm running it on xp sp2 box in a command window I have Ghostscript 8.53 in my path name
