Intel roadmap unveils plans for Dothan/Prescott
The Inquirer has posted some information on upcoming Pentium 4/M and Celerons, by the end of the year Intel expects to have broken the 4GHz barrier.
As for Pentium M CPUs, a 2MB Dothan core-based (90nm) version should be available by the begining of next month. Also Prescott core-based Celerons will be available at 2.80GHz & 2.53GHz frequencies, with a 3GHz expected before the end of the year. |

Maybe that means they're getting better yields & a lower power dissipation on the new parts. The first available Prescott samples were running hotter then Tabasco.
I'm wondering myself how AMD is doing with its 0.09 fabrication process. It doesn't seem too likely that a 2.6ghz Athlon64 will come out at 0.13. |
