COM 3 Port where is it
I try to load active sync to my hanheld and the system is sending me to connect the device in COM3 port, and I did it in all usb ports and did not work...can somebody tell me where is the com3 port, and if is there any key in the pc where it shows available ports?..also when I connected a device, the pc shows that some ports are fasters than others, my question is how and where can I identify each one in the pc.
Thanks |

if you are using windows xp (should be the same for 2000/vista/7) have a look in the device manager under "ports (com & lpt)". there is a list of all ports and where they are going to.

You may have two or one such ports on the back of your computer. They can be designated as COM0, COM1, COM2, COM3, or COM4 in the BIOS. It has been a while, but as I recall, Com 1 can be Com 3, and Com 2 can become Com 4. COM 0 means it is turned off.
This was important information in DOS and Windows 95. Usually the motherboard or BIOS handles it automatically. |
