Printer Driver Install on a Mac

I just bought an Canon Pixma MX850 Printer which I plan to network in my home wireless setup.
Can I install the drivers before I have the hardware hooked up?

I only ask as I don't have the printer with me at present and would like to get a jump start.
There were some posts that OSX 10.5.6 tended to erase the drivers needed for the MX850.
Any help?

Probably. Insert your OS disk, and then somewhere in there you can install printer drivers, they should have a set for Canon printers.. If the printer isn't listed there, then I'm not sure. There really shouldn't be much of a problem with the drivers once you actually do have the hardware, so why not deal with it then?

MX850 Drivers Install

The MX850 drivers must be downloaded, but you are correct, it will be much easy if I was just patient enough to wait until I have everything together.

I am just not that patient.

Thanks for your help, and I will let you know when I finally do it tomorrow. (as an adult)

Thanks again.
