I recently got a asus a2500h laptop for free, its very nice, but rather slow. i found out its a socket 478 and i would like to upgrade from the celeron 2.4ghz 128kb cache, 400 fbs. I have looked all around online i haven't found any exact suggestions on what i could put in there, i have tried a old Pentium 4 1.7ghz 256kb cache 400fbs i had laying around, but when i popped it in the computer would turn on for a few sec but wouldn't boot and shut off. So if anyone knows what would work that larger then 128kb cache, ill be very grateful. Thanks

You would be better off by increasing the laptops memory to the max allowed and install a larger faster hard drive
