Too much ultra thin screens. That is less than 11 years off, no way it will happen.
11 years is a long time in computing, but really, look back 11 years ago, there isn't all that much different. Fall of 1998 I started college. I brought a Pentium II 300Mhz computer, with a DVD ROM drive, and a Philips 107P 17" flat screen CRT (still the best 17" CRT ever made IMO). 8GB HD, and a ATi Rage Fury Pro AGP Card. Now that really isn't that much different than my main PC at home. I've got a flat panel LCD now. Larger HD, but it still spins, faster video card and different interface, but AGP is still in use... The only difference really is stuff is bigger and faster, nothing truly revolutionary has happened. I don't think we can expect something completely revolutionary to be mainstream in the next 11 years. |
