System specs
All you have to do is check the memory specs. Something like 200 pin SODIM DDR2 4200, 533... If the modules match in type, you can interchange them

It will not work. Your HP DV1000 uses older DDR PC2700 RAM. The Acer Aspire One uses newer DDR2 PC2-5300 or higher RAM. They are not the same shape.
