Tales from the toolroom - dirt & squalor

I always know what is coming next when the caller starts the converstation with "Can you be discrete?"
Without fail the next bit is about 'one of the children must has visited a website by accident and the computer is infected'. I'll say - start the thing up and the desktop has been hijacked with a b*ms & t*ts show and any attempt to use the browser results in more and more of the same, some with live action no less!
Some parents are pink with embarassment and take little or no comfort from my telling them that this happens all the time, that boys will be boys, it is peer group pressure, etc etc. It brings me up short when they mutter that they don't have sons, just daughters...
Anyway, getting rid of it is not usually a problem - just a matter of time which I charge for, and which I gather 'will come out of their pocket money' Do I keep the charges down because it is a kids money paying for it, I hear you ask? No b loody fear. Little buggers have more so called pocket money than I have!

Just think of it as job security or a steady source of income.

A possibility that doesn’t seem to have been considered, is that it may not be the offspring, but the father himself who visited the offending website(s) “by accident”.

Not sure if anyone agrees with me, but I have a sneaking suspicion that some people are becoming more tolerant and are not as bothered as they should be about porn on PCs - why make a fuss if you can see it on telly?
