Now as some are aware my cpu is running at the blisstering tempriture of around 60C - 68C thats about hmm 140F - 150F (im not sure in F) So what im doing know is buying myself a flashy new heat sink and case.

few questions how much does it cost Australian not American (so in australian dollars)???

Ive heard it is overpriced and poor quallity is this true???

is getting the side window model a waste of money???


What other cases would you recomend I dont realy care about style I just want sub-zero tempritures inside???

Overpriced? Depends on how much you pay for it.

Side windows are always great for watching your monster heatsink break the mounting brackets on the ZIF connector and fall crashing down on your overpriced video card. But I guess it just depends on if you want to look inside your computer without opening it.

Cases vary greatly for many reasons, ie. budget, functionality, cooling, weight, etc. If all you're interested in is cooling, then your criteria for a case should be a) Aluminum Casing b) Large fan mounts

Again on the heatsink, whats your budget look like?

Also keep in mind if noise levels are important to you.

For the best air cooling solution, get a Thermalright SP97 [be sure you buy the model that fits AMD cpus!]

That heatsink will take upto a 92mm fan, and if noise isnt an issue, get the Vantec 92x38mm Tornado. If noise is an issue, just find a 92mm fan with the best noise/cfm ratio.

Also, Alumium cases cost a lot more then steel cases, but are MUCH lighter, and disipate heat much better then steel cases. So you may want the 8000A [alumium], instead of the 8000+[steel].

The AU dollar is about 2 for every 1 american.

The 8000A is about $150 american, so that'll be around $300AU.

Wow, that's one hell of a heatsink. I don't know if his motherboards got mounting holes, but I wouldn't trust that monster on ZIF socket mounts.

Thermalright SP97 looks a bit big i.e the A socket may just snap in half

$70 for heat sink and fan

and $275 for case

they all seem to have the same fetures if any thing the
CASE-V6000+ seems to have more

From what I see, the 2000+ only has 4 5.25" drive bays, the 6000+ uses the 5th bay for a break out box. 8000+ has 5 open bays.

Personally, I love Cooler Master cases, they're high quality and beautiful. PC Case Gear is an online retailer that I think is based in Australia, you can find their assortment of cases here.

As for heatsinks, unless your motherboard has mounting holes, you're going to be severely limited on high performance heatsinks. You may want to look into Zalman heatsinks if noise is an issue to you.

the SP97 isnt too big, go read some reviews. it wouldnt be out selling if it would break mobos and sockets. and it wont go on clips, it can only be mounted via screwes into the mobo. its one if not the best heatsink out right now. I'd defently get it.

Antec P160 has removable motherboard tray and nice mountings for HDs. I'd go for that even though I'm happy with my Lian-Li PC-50.
