Backdoor.tidserv!inf virus

When my Norton ran today, it said I have this virus. A google led me to to site for help. I've read a couple of posts about this removal and the 8 step procedure but I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
I have Spybot, Ad Aware, and Norton Antivirus. Should I uninstall all of them or just the Norton and do the 8 step procedure. Like I said, I'm not really good at this.
Thanks, Wally

You _will_ find the help you need here...

First, if you have not already done so...

You need to read, understand, and strictly follow the directions
which you find at the top of this board. They are not difficult.
Julio has written very clear and informative introductions.
You will need to follow them
in order to request further help from the experienced helpers here.
You may find helpful tools in other places for a specific issue,
as mentioned in the last post...
but if you want to make certain that your system is healthy from stem to stern...

Start with... http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic120350.html
Then ... http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic58138.html
Followed by ... http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic65943.html

Once you have posted the three (3) logs mentioned in the 8 steps,
one of the experienced helpers will be more able to assist you.

How to post your Hijackthis log-file as an ATTACHMENT:

Good Luck. Repost if you have difficulties along the way.

--------------
Note to ralphedison... glad you are trying to help, just like me, but... Just a "heads up" -
Please review the special rules (and the reasons for them) for this area of TechSpot.
While your advice may not hurt, ... (I cannot affirm or deny)...
it is not in compliance with the special rules for the Virus and Malware removal board of TechSpot.
