So about a month ago i woke up to a Blue Screen of death that wasn't fixed with a simple restart. I wasn't downloading anything the previous night, i just simply left my computer on.

The problem is i tried fixing it with my OS CD but when it loads everything and ask me what i want to do (Enter=continue R=Repair etc) nothing happens whatever choice i pick. It just says "Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your system".

I found this software called Nlite that might work but the problem is i don't know what Drives i need!!! Does anyone know how i can find out which Drives i need?

If anyone knows any other way besides Nlite please help i can put all the details on the label of my Hard drive if needed.

Im running Windows Xp Media center edition if that helps

And i found the drives on Dells website i just don't know which one i need specificly there's about 1 in the folder i downloaded...

Note if you get to the Repair stage then the repair process has already found your Hard drive and originally installed Windows OS

Also running a Repair, means that you do not need any Hard drive drivers, as they are already installed
The only time you need the Hard drive drivers, (being the F6 button on Windows setup) is when the Windows is being setup clean (eg you have formatted or removed the original partition)

Here is the exact steps to Repair Windows

That kind of confused me more than help.. sorry

When i get to the screen that ask me if i want to continue or repair, no matter what option i choose i get the same error.

Hard disk drives not installed in you system etc

All i want to know is which exact drive my Hard disk drives i need out of the list i downloaded from dell. It gives me one long list of drives i don't know which one is right...

Would you like a Screen shot?

No I wouldn't Actually for future sake never post a screen shot

As for which driver to use (even though that cannot be the issue)
What is the make and model of computer, and Windows version you are using?

Edit: Oh I missed the double post above: Xp Media center

By the way do not reply to yourself, use EDIT to add to your posts IF it is still the last post in the thread

I know that

Here is an excellent page to find all drivers and info on your Dell machine: http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic100658.html

Here is the direct download location of your Hard Drive controller driver: http://ftp.us.dell.com/SATA/R158601.EXE

What folder?

Also by the way, you might want to invest into a good spellchecker as your words are pretty bad (Firefox will automatically underline a misspelled word, if that helps )

I gave you direct link above to your driver (it's not a folder)
I also stated this:

This is what i meant i had that already, now when i use this program called Nlite it asks me which driver to burn into a DVD along with my copy of XP (which i have).

The drivers are zipped into some file called icf or something like that.

i don't know how to make it more clearer... I don' t know where your misunderstanding...

Oh yes nLite and how to install the correct drivers

Hmm please do a search here on the forums. Or someone else may reply (if you have already searched)
As I don't want to say the wrong thing ie To get it perfectly right may take a page of info that I haven't ever done. Actually it could be a good guide
