Now, I got some recommended specs before on a rig, and now I'm looking into different things for myself. I'm more trying to figure out how to get the better stuff on my own and understand what I'm looking for in a pc.

I'm getting that I need to pick a CPU before a motherboard, and that the motherboard needs to support the socket type and speed of the cpu, correct? Also, the ram needs to match what you want, which brings me to my first question.

Edit: I have better more worthwhile questions.

1) ASUS P5Q Pro LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

I wanna get that motherboard from Newegg, it'll run with the Intel Core 2 Duo Wolfdale 3.0Ghz processor, but I'm wondering what Ram would be best. On newegg, I only see 4 options for 240-pin DDR2 1200 Ram, and only the 230 dollar Gskill has good reviews.

Out of those, should they all work fine? I want to get the 4GB of OCZ, but it has bad reviews with voltages and speeds, which is a little more than I know about. Anyone care to help clear this up?

2) Installing a power supply to a mobo, and a mobo to the case. How are these things done, and is there any soldering involved? I was told most of building is plug and snap, but those things seem to have much more complicated steps. Might be a stupid newbie question, but that's why I'm here

Is this a worthwhile graphics card? I want something up to date, that I don't have to run out and buy.
