Acer Aspire won't start on first try

I have an acer aspire 5735z. It worked all fine except that around a month back, the laptop wouldn't turn on when I pressed the power button the first time. I have to keep on pressing it again and again for it to start.
Can someone please help me with this.

System specs
Do you experience the same symptom when using only the AC adapter or only the battery?

Yeah, the same thing happens with the battery and the adapter.
Once the machine turns on it runs all fine. The only problem is with it turning on, sometimes it starts up immediatey and sometimes it takes from somewhere between 1 minute to 10 minutes.

Someone suggested to open it up and check the power switch but since I'm new to this I don't wanna risk anything.

I think there might be some problem in switch connection or the power button, get that check by some computer expert.
