AMD tops desktop CPU week sales
Sure you can play with numbers and create favorable statistics but when it comes to beat giant Intel with real figures, it's to be something else.
It's been reported by research firm, Current Analysis, that for the week ending April 24, desktop PCs equipped with processors from Advanced Micro Devices outsold desktops based on processors from Intel in the US, <cough> no need for Dell. Intel still controls the overall market, especially among notebooks, the fastest-growing segment of the PC market. Sixty-one percent of all PCs sold during the week ending April 24 came with Intel processors, and 81 percent of notebooks sold that week were powered by Intel processors, Duboise says. Although Intel continues to dominate the market as a whole, this shows strength from #2 CPU maker, especially in the consumer end. |
