Screen Recorder for Gaming Videos

I'm looking for a free screen recording program that gets great quality while taking as little resources as possible, I would like to record some first person in game video. A friend of mine says he uses Camtasia, though that isn't free. Another one uses GunCam, though that isn't free either.

Although I haven't used it myself, there is FRAPS. There is a free version and pay version but I don't know how limited the free version is. Check it out: http://www.fraps.com/

You can use any screen recorder really, but the most popular one designed for games is called 'FRAPS' (not free).

Try and use something like Camstudio(free). Just to let you know, using something not designed for games with most likely hurt your gameplay, because the recorder will be constantly draining resources along with the game you are playing.

I have used FRAPS before and it works very well with games, but thats me.
