Hi guys,

I recently got this BSOD STOP: 0x00000050 (0xA5AFCD4D, 0x00000000, 0x8053BF92, 0x00000000) Beginning dump of physical memory, Physical memory dump complete.
I had not installed any new items except for my router about 1week ago. I got this error while I was running MSN, mIRC program, internet explorer. I suspect that I got the problem due to someone on mIRC planting some virus on me because I was disconnect from it and shortly afterwards, my computer got hanged in hibernation mode and I did a improper shutdown and this error persist. But I wonder if that is possible since I did not accept any files.

I had since reformatted my computer twice and it went fine, until I upgraded my internet explorer version to IE ver 7.0 and the exact same STOP: 0x00000050 error came back. My computer is running on Windows XP and Dual Core processor.
I have since choose "No paging file" virtual memory on my Hard disk 1 (C and set a custom size virtual memory on my 2nd hard disk 2 (D. Got 2 hard disk drive cuz I have about 70+ GB HDD. Sometimes, the error still persist.
I have run a virus scan with AVG 8.5 and found no virus.

Could anyone please help and guide me with this problem ? Any idea how it could have happened?

Could you please attach your latest minidump files so that someone can debug them and get a better idea of what is causing the error. They should be located at

Start > My Computer > Local Disk C: > Windows > Minidump

Attach 3-5 dumps in your next post (you can zip them if needed)

and since mIRC can be a source of infection... (happened to me once years ago)...

AVG is a good package, but no av will catch everything.
AV packages sometimes catch problems other than viruses too, but AntiSpyware and Antimalware packages are also advisable for broad spectrum protection. You should also have a firewall...

Hi guys,

I've run the 8 step guide and found no viruses, malwares, just some tracking cookies. I've called my Acer technical support today and have since resolved the problem (i hope).

It is a unique problem to Acer computers that uses the AVG anti-virus software.
I was asked to enter SAFE MODE and uninstall the Acer e-lock management system and reboot the computer. As simple as that and the problem is resolved!
Apparently, the technical support person said that it was due to the a conflict between AVG and Acer comps. So guys do look out for this!

Btw thx guys for sharing with me ideas to get around this problem previously! Really appreciate them! =)

I looked through a BUNCH of other threads on other boards about 0x00000050 BSODs before finding this one. I'm SO relieved to find this response. Windows support center had me chasing viruses, ram issues, etc. I uninstalled AVG and everything was happy. Installed Avast instead (which I like better anyway).

If your drivers are up to date, and if you are not overclocking, then...
I would recommend starting with Memtest... Start with post 21 in this thread... http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic62524-2.html.

The reason is... All of your bugchecks point at memory in one way or another. 0x7f, 0x50, 0x8E (c0000005)
Stop 0x7F messages are typically due to defective, malfunctioning, or failed memory hardware.
Defective memory or incompatible software (including remote control and antivirus software) might cause Stop 0x50 messages.

Your errors occurred using TTPlayer.exe, TtT English.exe, and Au_.exe.
None of these are AV, or Remote Control Software. Neither (typically) are they malware... Still...

If Memtest comes up good, then
The TTplayer is known to be targetted by a certain worm, and malware may cause a wide variety of issues, including memory and/or driver related issues. If you think there is a chance that malware may be your issue, then
I would recommend going to the Virus and Malware Removal board http://www.techspot.com/vb/menu28.html,
and start by diligently following the http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic58138.html.
If you discover malware, or if you have difficulties completing the http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic58138.html.
then you will want to start a new thread on that board... http://www.techspot.com/vb/menu28.html.

I uninstalled Acer e-Lock Management and all is good now. I too was chasing all kinds of other possibilities before I found this page.

I never would have found this if you haven't posted your error codes. I did a partial search of my error (0x8053CC02), and then found this.

To add for others searching for this, here's the other error codes I got on the BSOD:

0x00000050 (0x955AC1A5, 0x00000000, 0x8053CC02, 0x00000000)

And / Or

0x00000050 (0x955AC1A5, 0x00000000, 0x8053CE02, 0x00000000)

I would also like to add that I have another Acer with e-Lock Management and AVG that doesn't have any problems. Also on the one that had the problem, It had AVG and e-Lock Management running fine together for a while before there was an issue. It would seem there are also other factors that cause the problem. Either way, uninstalling e-Lock Management fixes the issue.
