Help with buying parts
Hey guys.
So far i got an XfX geforce 9600 768MB - Videocard Which needs 600 Watts or greater. My CPu is aamd athlon 64 x2 5400 Black Edition Sockets are am2 My mother is a Evga nforce 730a Geforce 8300 with am2 sockets as well Im looking at Harddrives, PSU, and Ram Right Now IM having troubles with a right PSU.. I've been looking at a 700Watts, but Is that enough? The Harddrive im looking at is a Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - OEM And I have one last question about Ram. The mother is 800 mHz Min, for Ram. Should I get 1000? Or just stick with 800 Mhz at 3 Gb? Please someone Help.. THanks |

Quality of power supply is much more important than Watts... Tell us more...
Quality of memory and brand are also important... as performance varies greatly from Value Ram to high end gamer ram. Most of your configuration looks fine... How old is all this great equipment? |

your hdd is nice.u can go in for 850W to stay on the safer side.
ram should be fine at 3gb looking at ur gpu i assume u might be into gaming,multimedia... so a ram operating at above 800MHz should give u improved performance. |

This is the model I've been looking at for memory.
CORSAIR XMS2 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X4096-6400C5C - Retail Its actually 4gb. My PSU CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power ... - Which is the one i was looking at. ANd this is the 850 if needed. Seventeam ST-850ZAF 850W ATX 12V V2.2 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply - Its a crazy brand but I think it'll do the trick. If you have any suggestions im open to them. Thanks |

Yes...um I would look more into the corsair 400w for that particular graphics card, which maybe isn't an amazing card.
If you don't already have the card, consider the $65 SAPPHIRE 100255HDMI Radeon HD 4670 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card - Retail or $95 SAPPHIRE 100245L Radeon HD 4850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail . |
