Stubborn Motherboard Screws
Does anyone have any tips for removing stubborn motherboard screws? I think some of the ones on my mobo have either had the threads shredded or the screw head itself. I looked at various tips but they all sound like they're for screws in woodwork (I don't particularly want to take a drill anywhere near my mobo thanks very much :P).
Has anyone else had similar problems and if so how did you solve it? |

Have you tried using a small (4" or 6") locking pliars such as a Vice-Grips?
First, use a hypodermic needle available from a diabetic patient or pharmacy... to drop a very amall small amount of screw removing compound found in good automotive shops or tools centers. Then wait the appropriate about of time. Grip the remaining head to reverse twist, OR just wear downt the head through compression so the board slides up over it... then remove the screw with the locking pliar after the board is off. |
