Desktop won't boot
hi,
my company gave me a desktop and i try to start, but it won't boot saying" press F1 to retry and F2 for setup utility" I even tried to use another o/s windows xp installation cd to boot. But there is no change. any idea? |

Somebody in your company probably took it upon themselves to erase the critical proprietary data, and screwed up the hard drive... or the setup.
Tell us the brand and model of computer or motherboard, and the version of Windows Xp disk you have... the configuration would be useful... optical drive, memory modules, CPU, CPU Fan, power supply, hard drive, and serial number or part number from the back of the case. For now, assume the hard drive is bad, but it probably just requires a clean reformat. Check your BIOS to see what the established boot order is, so we can help you change the boot order for a clean boot. If you need a new hard drive, we can probably help you with that, and the cost is as low as $41 . |
