laptop hard drives
I havew a IBM A-31 that died on me. Boots up locks up in different modes but always locks up. I have two 256 meg ram and I swapped out the ram memory with each other socket and elimated each. Same result. I resorted to using my old thinkpad 600e which seems to be a rock solid machine. Only problem is it's only a 5 gig HD, My A-31 is a 20 gig, they are not interchanging and I can't figure out why. Niether drive seewms to be compatable with the other machine. Does this seem right?

What are you doing with the drives? How do you conclude that they are not interoperable?
The OS installations will definently not be operable: e.g. you won't be able to boot the Windows installation on the HD from the other machine. Reinstall or a driver cleanup is the way to go here. |
