Microsoft to launch music streaming service

Speaking to the Telegraph, executive producer of MSN Peter Bale has revealed that Microsoft is gearing up to launch a streaming music service before the end of the month. Without going much into details, Bale said the service will perform similarly to Spotify, a streaming music service available only in Europe which offers both an ad-supported listening option as well as a premium subscription with no ads (similar to Pandora in the US). Microsoft is still examining how their business model will work, though.

I read about this on computer and video games. I wonder if it will be on the Xbox 360. They recently teamed up with Last fm to deliver music content, so I expect it will be, If this service is out on the Xbox 360 It might, (if its good) make me changed from spotify. I like the sound of FREE music that we can carry around on personal media players, thats the one thing I hate about spotify. ''The new music streaming
service is going to be tested first in the UK'' YEA WE GET SOMETHINK FIRST. NA really, MS games really trying o grab market share over here. In Europe the PS3 outsells the Xbox 360. But on the UK, the 360 outsells the PS3.

If they can get loads record companys and artists on board. This could really rival I tunes, and be a selling point for the Zune. This will really combat piracy. I think software and games should go this way too.
