Areca & 3Ware Controllers - Can They Get Along In The Same CPU?

Can newer Areca (X8 1200 series) and 3Ware (9000 series X4 and X8) controllers coexist in the same CPU? Has anyone tried it.? I would probably want to boot off of one of them.
