Asus hard at work on USB 3.0-packing motherboard

Usually on top of their game, Asus is typically quick to adopt new technology, and the same will ring true with the latest USB standards. Several shots of their USB 3.0-packing P6X58 Premium system board have hit the Web. The P6X58 reportedly makes use of the NEC µPD720200 controller we covered in May. The same reason why we had USB 1.1 and 2.0 together originally. The previous version is cheaper.

The chipset does not support USB 3.0 so a dual port controller has been added in.
