Intel issues firmware fix for 34nm solid state drives

As promised, Intel today released a new firmware revision to address an issue with its second-generation 34nm solid-state drives. The bug, first discovered a couple of weeks back, could cause data corruption for those who altered or disabled the drive’s password within the system BIOS, and was considered serious enough for the outfit to temporarily halt shipments of the new drives.
