Installing Windows 7 on non ACPI compliant hardware

Anyone have any ideas on how to do this? I have tried to update the BIOS, that didn't really work because there is no way to do it outside of a floppy disk, and I really didn't want to install one when I had no guarantees that it even made it ACPI compliant.

A while back news was some dude got it installed on a bunch of really old hardware, but I never found any explanation on how he did it.

Have you tried suspending S1 & S3, and disabling C2, via the BIOS?

Also, you may want to try installing Vista and see if it pops up an error message like Windows 7 (I am guessing the latter gave you one?), which will confirm if its a BIOS-specific issue.

Also, try swapping out the video card for another one (if you have a spare), or running on onboard video, if your motherboard allows for it.
