Windows XP bsod

here's my case. i recieved an error code : stop: 0x0000007F (one time)
since then i have not been able to use my computer.
everything sounds like its running, but my monitor as soon as it turns on says:
self test b
your monitor is working g
check the video cable and pc r
the monitor says this whether i have the computer on or just the monitor.
any suggestions?

You might try booting into SAFE mode and set option: Enable VGA mode. Will attempt a Safe mode with using the Windows generic VGA driver

ooops. but just realized you can't see your monitor image at all?? Other then checking cables etc. you may need to try borrow a friend's monitor to test
