Private messaging

I was PM'd by a TechSpecialist or whatever the title is; A purple name. However, because I don't have 45 PMs, I couldn't respond! I think, you guys should allow new users to PM not only staff members, but also the trusted helpers, otherwise, we'd have to spam quite a lot to be able to respond..

Those rules are flexible. Look at some of Julio's comments on new members.
You have a sensitive subject. Send your comments to Julio. I suppose he would be grateful to learn what you have on your mind...
I didn't know you had to have 45 PM's. Are you sure of that?

Hi Kaye,

That's probably some miscommunication on our part since you are correct, new members are not allowed to PM until they pass the 45 post mark. The reason is to avoid PM spamming which is a problematic issue considering those are meant to be private communications and we cannot intervene on what's being sent or not.

I will communicate with all moderators and other special members to remind them of this restriction so they can keep their channels open within threads rather than through PMs when dealing with newly registered members.

Thanks for your feedback.

Ah, yes, I meant 45 posts; Yeah, Julio, I just know that I received a private message from a 'purple name' giving me some instructions and a follow-up, and I wasn't able to message 'em back; Just made me wonder, if they're trusted or whatever the term is, why new users can't PM them, as well as staff members. ^_^.
