Dell Inspiron 8100 Model PP01X. Won't power up

The Ac is hooked up to it and battery has a full charge on it but when you push the power botton the green led comes on for about 2 sec's then goes off and thats it..no sound, no screen just the led for 2 sec's and poof. Any Idea's?

Remove the battery and AC Adapter. Press and hold the power button for 2 minutes. Plug in the AC adapter and see if the computer turns on normally. If not, the laptop will have to be serviced

Agree with Tmagic650. Could be a bad hard drive, bad memory module, bad cmos battery, bad power switch, bad ribbon cable from system board to LCD screen, or water arrived onto the system board through the keyboard... and sometimes electronics components go bad just as a light bulb reaches the end of its useful product life. But if Tmagic650's idea doesn't work, you may need the assistance of somebody with test instruments... if a change out of hard drive or memory do not work.
