No Internet connection

My Linksys wireless adapter on my laptop will not connect to the internet. The system tray says my signal is strong and the lights on the adapter are on. If I open up the network connection is says I’m connected. I’m running XP and the router is Cisco. Any ideas on what it could be. Thanks.

PCMCIA or wireless or wired connection?
The way you describe it, you have a failed install involving the Linksys drivers or more likely Firmware.
You will probably save time by totally removing that install, and reinstalling the Linksys from a download of the drivers and firmware...
The Linksys is a pretty hardy animal, but it could still be a failed.burned out Linksys.
The Linksys documentation and Cisco documentation will take you all the way through the diagnostics and reinstall... but it is still tricky to do... unless you read every word.
