Congratulations, hahaha! Still kind of short no offence. Just don't wish to get too tall! I'm 6'4 and I can barely walk through my doorway. By the way, can you drive yet? Hahaha, it's great once you can drive without a parent in the car! So one thing to look forward to when turning 16.

Home & photos
I don't have a digital camera, my scanner is on another system, I live in the U.S.A., and I think the text version adequate for 1000 word explanations considering file sizes. If we want to help clean up the web, (good luck!), minimizing the clutter of data intensive graphic and audio toy trash would go a long way. (Not kidding)

From what I get out of it, hes saying our 'intensive graphics' [pictures] are a bad thing that just slow down and clutter the internet up with data.

Well I don't have a picture of where my computers are yet...Were re-doing the home office. Yet being as I'm new here I figured I would go ahead and post a picture of me anyways.
This is me and my son the day after he was born... Interesting it won't allow me to post the URL from my online storage. |

Real time revisited
If you've never run a server and watched the traffic, you'd have no idea of the volume of clutter especially SPAM and wasteful advertising that chokes the system with time and resource waste. Even in the early days of online data transfer, browsers and operating systems were written with an over redundancy which many operators complained about. These feature rich packages were costing time, effort, accuracy, and efficiency. Take a tour through MS's l-o-n-g list of patches, fixes, and tweaks on their gigunda website, and you get the sincere impression that the dragon will never quit chasing it's tail.
Just because DOS was too cryptic or stoic about it's returns during operation, was a poor excuse to swing to the opposite extreme of here is everything you never thought you'd you need. How many version upgrades are ther in the average application required to keep up with the changes of 'progress'? A Model T Ford will run on the same oil as a Cadillac, but unleaded is required for those with different valve metallurgy. One can take a photograph with a pinhole in a simple light tight box on film, but a digital camera is the latest fad for gimmick lovers. Merry Christmas, Tiny Tim. |

Those are pretty poor comparisons. The picture quality is vastly improved with digital cameras over the first cameras, the model t will run on leaded, but not real long on unleaded without lead substitute added. Just because now we have to use a different gasoline doesn't mean its worse. Now we no longer have lead pollution along roadways, big plus for city playgrounds and the kids who play there.
With increasing digital technology there is absolutely no reason other than to begin argument/discussion abotu how everything was better back when you had to do everything through a CLI. If you are so concerned about saving the internet, do you own little part and put back together an old 386 and use a 14.4 or less dialup modem. That way you won't be encouraging new technology by buying it, and your slow modem speeds will help do its little part by not taking very much bandwidth out of the whole connected world. |
