OK...so you are like into soil remediation or seismological stuff or something? Sorry if I'm being nosy, I just never heard of one of those before. I live about 100 yards from the Inglewood Newport fault in L.A., and being from Missouri, you're up there in New Madrid country right?

My undergraduate degree is in Geology and Geophysics with emphasis in Groundwater and Environmental Geochemistry. So I'd like to get a job with remediation on some level at some time. But no, I'm using that device to get the soil conditions for specific soils under specific conditions and relating that to detectability of buried land mines by a AN/PSS-14 Handheld Standoff Mine Detection System (HSTAMIDS) which uses GPR as a detection criteria.

The AN/PSS-14 has undergone a big design change since the pictures in that article. Which now looks like this:

Nope, don't live in New Madrid county. Live in Phelps County, and work for the Center for Environmental Science and Technology at University of Missouri-Rolla. Located halfway between Springfield, MO and St. Louis.

Sounds very interesting. Sadly mine detection is a field that won't be running out of work anytime soon. Kudos to you. A very worthwhile endeavor!

The Man behind the nick--oh the irony of it...

My sporadic, and some times long absences have been paying off.
One of the tasks I've been tending to, filming a "Speed Channel" reality show called "Epic Ride".
I'm not on it but in it. A friend of mine, Elvis, was in/on it. It will be the Arizona cruiser, Kingman/Grand Canyon episode. Should be in editing now.

This pic was taken during Az bike week 2007. I was doing Security and didn't even know they took this pic. The owner of the HD dealership where the party was, is wanting to use this pic to sell HD's (Harley's). I signed the release pointing out a small conflict, I ride a 2000 Yamaha RoadStar! He dropped his jaw, stating: "I own a $10,000,000.00 dealership, you'd think I'd know the diff!!" Then said "You can't tell from the pic and is using it anyway"..

Thanks to all T.S.! for being there for me!!

Destination: Grand Canyon Tue, May 8 9:30PM
Destination: Grand Canyon Tue, May 8 1:30AM
Destination: Grand Canyon Wed, May 9 9:30AM
