Movies Available Via Broadband Service?

You know what's going on - if you have a broadband connection and know all about bittorrents, Kazaa Lite, IRC bots, and so forth then its possible to download very up to date movies and television programs at such a frequency that it makes for a viable alternative to cable TV. But of course, its illegal to so do.

Just the other day I was remarking to a friend about how I would like to be able to pay a "download tax" as it were, and be able to download whatever media I wanted legitimately. I know these services exist already for music but what we need is one for all types of content currently illegally available on the Net. Looks like someone beat me to the punch, and created STARZ! Ticket:

"STARZ! Ticket on Real Movies gives subscribers unlimited access to a rotating library of premium, major motion pictures for only $12.95 per month. Unlike pay-per-view services, STARZ! Ticket on Real Movies does not charge a separate fee each time a movie is downloaded. Offered in RealVideo 10 and through RealPlayer, movies will take as little as 20 minutes to download depending on the speed of the subscriber's broadband service. Additionally subscribers will have access to a streamed version of the STARZ! linear service, marking the first time a premium movie channel has been delivered simultaneously over broadband."

A very interesting development, which you can read more about here.

Very nice find Phant!

Too bad it's in Real format though. Haven't had any RealPlayer installed for quite some time, and have no plans to add it either.
Guess I'll have to see about finding a program to convert it to something better
