Microsoft store to open Thursday in Scottsdale, Arizona

Microsoft has confirmed plans to open its first retail store this Thursday, October 22, to coincide with the launch of Windows 7. So what kind of specific machines do you think they'll be selling since Windows is on so many computer platforms? Could they sell the rights to a manufactor for the right to have their machines in the Microsoft store? Another money-maker for the big guys.

Apple with an aggressive ad campaign?! Well at least we can rest assured they will focus on highlighting positive aspects of their own products instead of stooping so low as to bash the competition with lies....

Mattfrompa, I sincerely hope that that is sarcasm. If so, then well-played I must say. But if it's not, then let me say that Apple constantly bashes PC's for their susceptibility to viruses and being a "work" computer and whatnot.

Microsoft is rather brave to open a store on the eve of a new OS launch. Could you imagine if they had opened stores when Vista released? The employees would be in constant fear for their lives, swamped with walk-in technical issues, and probably have the places firebombed repeatedly! heh

Maybe that means MS is actually confident that Win7 will be a winner this go-round? From my experiences with the RC version, it's everything Vista should have been...

So what do you think will be in the gift bags? Could it possibly be Windows 7 being that the day it opens coincides with the official release of Windows 7?
