Give them a call. ZZF has been known to charge on occasion and then say it is out of stock.

Sorry to throw more confusion on the issue but I don't want to see it happen to you and as you say the 5000 series are nigh impossible to find.

Nvidia does have some high end cards avaliable as you have already linked. Perhaps one step down might do the trick.

Well I ordered it. If it is out of stock, I'll cancel. And dispute the charge on the cc if I have to, as I have successfully before. I'll wait a bit and see how that goes before ordering anything else.

Monitor suggestions are still welcome, as well as any other tweaks. I'm still not sure on cooling needs.

Okay, keep us posted. I really hope you get it. By the way, on the whole monitor thing I have found I need to go see a monitor in order to get a better idea. I suggest going to Staples, Best Buy, etc. and compare and contrast.

Dell has some sweet deals every once in awhile.

Yes and a new release compared to the 4000 series. I've ordered from ZZF and I have never had an issue. What do you think HK?
Zip Zoom fly is fine, and HIS isn't bad.

HK, quick question from something you posted earlier. My ignorance but were stating that the 4700 cards ran hot?

Well it has been packed according to ZZF, so keeping the fingers crossed.

I'd still ask you to go with the Corsair 650TX which will do just great. It also saves you enough to get a CPU cooler I guess.

It was out of stock on newegg, but I just bought it at Best Buy for $99. $9 tax for 108.99 total.

Thanks for your help. How necessary is the cooler with my setup, and what should I look for? I've never needed one before

Also, I have a tracking number from ZZF, though it hasn't showed up in fedex's system yet. So if somebody needs a 5870, try ZZF.

Thanks HK!

Does anyone have any experience with the P183 case?

I think things should fit, but I don't want to overlook. I can get a larger case if needed. I just prefer the simplicity of it more than the flashier cases.

I plan on getting the 64 bit windows if that wasn't obvious already. I should label it as such in my parts list I guess.

Also, I think I could possibly have a little money left to spend. Is there a specific 'upgrade' that someone would recommend or should I just put it toward a better monitor?

So the video card has shipped, and is in fedex's system. Should be here on Tuesday or Wednesday next week. I will take a final look at parts and update on where I am on costs. Then if there is anything left, I can consider minor changes.

Thanks to everyone for their help so far!

Look forward to seeing how it works out. If you have any money left over get yourself a good 22"-24" monitor. make sure you do a lot of research. I like Samsung.

The CPU cooler is not necessary if you're not planning to OC that gem of a processor.

The OCZ Vendetta 2 is 'deactivated' on newegg. I could probably find it elsewhere, but am looking at other options. Yay or nay, if I wanted a cooler?

Yes, I am now considering overclocking.

Also, the Ripjaw HK talked about is no longer $80 So I'm thinking about getting the 3x2 for 6GB instead @$139.00.
