Windows XP 0x000007b

So it all started with my computer claiming everything on my computer was a virus my notepad.exe and stuff like that. I have AVG and i was panicing and when it was claiming everything was a virus a window popped up telling me to quarantine the viruses and i might have got rid of something important. So what im wondering is this the virus that messed up everything and i have to reformate my hard drive and reinstall my OS or is this something i can repair easily? I have tried running it in safe mode and every which way on the F8 menu but everything just gives me the blue screen of death.

Its always best to keep your Antivirus up to date and remove all found Viruses, so what you did was correct (I can only think that some of those Viruses infected Windows before being detected in the first place)

You could try running a Windows repair:

Microsoft's Windows XP Home Repair Install step by step

I use free Avira Antivirus, you might want to go with that next time instead of AVG
If you do get it Repaired, you will need to run the AVG Remover Tool, if you do decide on the change
