PC will not post after upgrade

Hey Guys,
I have a question to ask and see if you can tell me what my problem is?
I have an
Acer Aspire AM1100-B1410A
2.1 GHz BE-2350 AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core Processor
2 GB RAM
320 GB SATA HD
The Problem I was running Vista Home Premium 32-bit I did an in-place upgrade to windows 7 32-bit everything upgraded fine I entered the product key, set the time then it restarted, but when it restarted Verifying DMI... stayed on the screen for about 30 minutes and then it went black nothing else it stayed that way for hours. So I pushed the power button to restart it when it restarted I didn't hear the POST beep like I usually hear. The monitor doesn't come on or anything all I get is a black screen, num lock light on the keyboard and the power light on the front of the PC thats it. What could be causing this? Any help would be appreciated.

Pretty sure the first thing mentioned to try in that Guide will fix it for you
But the stalling on "Verifying DMI"; could have been Ram or Harddrive issue (yet to see )
