System specs
DVD reader issues on Gateway laptop

have a gateway m320
new xp pro clean install
the dvd reader will read some cd's and dvd's but wont even recognize others
that play fine on 5 other computers
why?
i don't get it
downloaded all drivers from gateway
like i said it will read some dvd's and cd's
but some dont even get recognized
tried a dvd cleaner and it doesn't even know it's there

Some Cds and DVDs have "protection" on them which will only allow you to use them in the specified country
Some written CDs and DVDs are just not good enough to be read on some laptop computers. For this reason, many users purchase external DVD Drives (USB Connected)
