We can download the game just fine. The problem is the game crashes as soon as we try to enter the sewers. We had this problem with a different edition and so we bought the game of the year edition and have patched it thinking this might help but it hasn't. We are running on vista with a dual core intel processor.

Which Oblivion, the original? Try changing the compatibility mode to Windows XP.

It's the G.O.T.Y. edition. We have right clicked the icon and have put it on xp service pack 2. Is there somewhere else we need to go to do that?

Have you tried installing the most recent driver for your graphics card? If not, you should uninstall the old one through Add and Remove Programs first.

we tried to do that and our computer does not meet the minimum specifications to install it.

This might be the root cause of the problem then.
